Martina and Rudy Indermühle Martina: Worked as a dispatcher with the Passugger Springs. She distributed the healthy mineral water all over Switzerland and the neighboring countries. With the help of 12 truck drivers and 8 trucks as well as in cooperation with many haulage contractors. After allmost 20 years in Passugg, longing for a change in her life she moved to Alaska. Now she takes loving care of her garden instead of truck drivers and clients and she cooks and bakes for the guest of the "Nenana Sled Dog College". Ruedi: He did many years of insulation work for AGI in Zizers, Switzerland. Also, he continues to be a racemarshal or judge at sled dog races in Europe. After being a dog musher for 20 years, he liked to stay in touch with the sled dog sport. Given the opportunity of being a race judge at the IDITAROD sled dog race, he learnd to know and love Alaska. In 1990, he bought some land in Nenana and did build a vacation(!!!)-cabin. In 1998, after he did win the US green card in the lottery, he officialy emigrated to Alaska. Many people are surprised, that he didn't start racing dogs again after moving to Alaska. Every March he is a race judge at the IDITAROD and a race marshal at the SCANDREAM in Finland. For a living he does maintenance work for JL property in Fairbanks. Kitty: After a sled dog race in south Tyrol, Italy, a tiny kitten was imported to Switzerland. As a spectator, safely looking out the window of a camping trailer, she was at many sled dog races all over Europe. Her first journey by air was the end of May 1997, when she flew with Balair from Zürich to Anchorage. In Oktober 1997, she flew back to Switzerland and in April 1998 again to Alaska. This time for good. As a formal lady globetrotter, she enjoys (contrary to expectation) the endless freedom in Alaska very much and the many chickadees and other critters, she watches with great interest. Mr. Universe: Snoopy, obtrusive, noisy, impudent, he is always a hungry squirrel. I suppose your wondering, where his name comes from. He is bigger than the other squirrels, that's how he got his name. He steals bird seeds, gets old bread, checks daily on the compost, he dries mushrooms on branches and is the ruler of his domain. Flint: He is an Alaskan Husky with ¼ Pointer blood. Bred to be hooked up to a sled and to run with his team mates, like the wind, over the trails of all the big sled dog races. In his back ground are many famous sled dog athletes, the best blood lines coming together. But well... Flint didn't think that way... He didn't like to be hooked up, didn't like team sports. When he became 13 months old, he was looking for a new home as a pet. Now he runs free, like the wind, through the woods on walks with his "peoples".
